11/25/2023 0 Comments Final fantasy xiv sokenagain, who would most care about balance between jobs? absolutely not the casual player.Your IP address has been temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests. It turns out if you remove most of the nuance between jobs and all of their quirks, its suddenly a LOT easier to balance them. unless thats a blissful accident, it kinda feels like the jobs are balanced with the best players in mind. yet if you do, theyre (pretty much) balanced. if you play the jobs badly, they are not equal. a lot of raiders cant seem to empathise enough to understand that if you're freshly at 90 that the vast majority of jobs are still really complex, no matter how much you simplify them in order to prove theyre all identical. its just hard to believe that somehow all these changes towards standardisation were for the sake of the casual player who barely plays their job well to begin with. Thats not to say that casual players dont benefit at all obviously, streamlining does help them and making it so all jobs work together will make df stuff go slightly more smoothly. similarly for tanks being seen as samey - if that change was for the casual player, warrior would not be allowed to be by far the best dungeon tank for as long as it has. its for the raider, to stop them from excluding certain jobs because of perceived weaknesses. that's not gonna be for the casual player, where they dont even choose whos in their DF group. its like how they moved away from things like piercing or slashing down which heavily encouraged sticking certain jobs together in party comps. the move towards 120s raid buffs can only be because of raiders, a casual player is not using their raid buffs on cooldown anyway. It didn't help they didn't bother to give new series token rewards this go around, maybe they are saving them for 6.5.Ĭlick to shrink.streamlining jobs by removing unnecessary jank (this goes for that one sam skill too) is not making them easier for casual players, its just making them less janky, which all players will benefit from. I would absolutely love for a new PvP based rewards from series EXP that gave decent ilvl gear again and had achievement mechanics like HW with the collaboration (which is still going on now). Bozja and Eureka are obvious ones but not so obvious is actually PvP, we used to have ilvl appropriate rewards for doing PvP before they went lvl 1 glamour for everything. We really need some kind of proper grind for progression system in this game that has endgame aspect to it that isn't gated weekly. I find it extremely unlikely this didn't affect FFXIV in someway given its the same developement division even if they felt they had hired enough people to fill any gaps in the team. It probably didn't help between Covid and FFXVI release either because I know from what they have talked about previously they do siphon staff from other development teams in prep for a major release so they have a ton of workers making and polishing assets right up till release day. Now? Not so much, which is why I like light party savage content. I agree, I only did savage during Alexander series because I had all the time in the world as did my friends. It doesn’t have the kind of progression I like and the fun factor is not that long lasting. Honestly they need to create content for casuals too and deep dungeons ain’t it imo. The reason why I like Eureka and Bozja is precisely because it had its own leveling system, there was progression tied to it and the CE in Bozja were great. But I say go for it, I don’t think the savage raiding scene will be abandoned just because of savage dungeons.Īs for Casual Battle content, I need that too. They probably didn’t for now, just to see how players reacted to this content first and maybe they are also worried that some might flock to this content since it’s less of hassle to get a party together than savage raiding unless you find yourself in a static. Just need to tied some sort of gear progression akin to savage raiding to make it more meaningful. Getting together a 4 players party is way easier for a lot of people.
